Owner/Company History

Dan Thomas Builders built homes from 1987 till 2015. In 1999 I started building almost exclusively Insulated Concrete Form homes.
Sustainable homes are my calling card.
Building strong, comfortable homes with minimal future maintenance is my passion. In 2001 I founded a real estate company and in 2010 it was time to start an academic career. I spent about 3 years at Pitt Community College as Sustainable Energy Coordinator and teaching sustainability and weatherization . From there I spent a year at Lenoir Community College as the Sustainable Technologies Chair. In 2017 I started full time at East Carolina University teaching sustainability, estimating, and residential construction. In six years I also took six ECU NAHB teams to compete nationally at the International Builders show. I retired from ECU in spring of 2023 and refocused on my real estate, consulting, and design work.

Mission Statement

When building, we strove to be among the best in the state in quality, sustainability, value, and integrity.
We understand trust is earned through performance and our long list of past clients bears this out. We pledge to carry this over to Real Estate Broker services, Construction Consultation, Drone services, and Custom Home Design.
